Eliza W. Ginder's grandparents were Johann "Adolph" Gillman (1728-1780)of Steinfurth, Hessen, Germany, and Anna Catharina Kreider (1732-1773) of Soedel, Oberhessen, Germany. They married at St. Michael's and Zion's German Lutheran Church in Philadelphia on January 1, 1756. Anna Catharina Kreider Gillman died in 1773, and her obituary notes from St. Michael's and Zion's showed that she was the daughter of Johan Ernest Kraeuter [Kreider] and Elizabeth Riess, both of a noble class. In addition, Anna Elizabeth Kreider's brother was Johan "Martin" Kreider who ran inn called Sign of the Swan tavern on Second street and died in 1773. One of his daughter, Anna Maria Kreider, married to Hilary Baker, a Philadelphia Mayor who died in office of yellow fever in 1798.
