Pauline M. Gurnard, 88, a longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010, at Central Washington Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1922, in Loveland, CO to Cyril Oscar Jones and Irene Inez (Linscott) Jones. At the age of two, she moved with her family to Cashmere. She graduated from Cashmere High School in 1940. After high school graduation, she went to work for Boeing Aircraft Company. On August 7, 1942, she married Herbert R. Gurnard. They made their home on the family orchard in Cashmere. In 1948, they moved to the Seattle area. In 1955, they purchased a pear orchard in Dryden. They operated the ranch for 25 years, before retiring in 1980, and moving to make their home in East Wenatchee. Besides operating the family orchard, she packed apples for many years at Cashmere Fruit Exchange and Peshastin Hi-Up. She was a longtime member of the Wenatchee Women's Bowling Association. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and crocheting afghans, of which she kept family and friends supplied.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marlane K. Gurnard of East Wenatchee; two grandsons, Jeffrey R. Gurnard and his wife; Heidi of Waterville, WA and Jason M. Gurnard and his finance, Andrea Wing of Ellensburg, WA; four great-grandchildren, Shasten Gurnard of East Wenatchee, Riley Gurnard of Ellensburg and McKenna and Kellen Gurnard, both of Waterville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Gurnard; two sons, Herbert R. Gurnard, Jr. and Larry R. Gurnard; her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Monday, April 19, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Mike O'Neal officiating. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at the Cashmere Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, April 19 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
