Emma standing in the front row, second from the right in the dark skirt. Albert's oldest half brother George's very snooty looking English wife came directly from England... All the ladies looked altruistic and full of life.

Fantastic 11 Aug 1910 picture of the ladies at the Cypress Beach. Did they forget their bathing suits and caps?

Front Row - Julia Abshier, Emma Brenner, unk, Olive Alexander, Emma Rowe Hougland, Carrie Lacke,

Cypress Beach is actually the Ohio River front. When construction for the new Locks & Dam 47 was begun by the Army Corps in 1966 at the site of Cypress Beach, the Schmidt property, perched high above the dam, was purchased. The Corps offered to sell the house, with the stipulation it be moved. Finding no takers, the house was razed in 1970.

Kent is a county in South East England; borders Greater London to the northwest, Surrey to the west....

Her birth place apparently was at Mordon, a village in County Durham, England.

She came to America in 1856 along with her parents: Chas E Rowe (Powe) and Mary Burton

Marriage took place on 2 Nov 1865 in Warrick County, Indiana
