ANDERSON — Louis Dean "Louie" Harless, 80, died April 18, 2010, at the Marion VA Hospital after an extended illness.

He served in the U.S. Army for 21 months during the Korean War. He was a combat veteran. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and a Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. He enjoyed country western music and his dogs, Rocky and Sweetie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lena (Allison) Harless; a daughter, Cheri Lynn; two brothers, Jimmy and Woody; and a sister, Geneva.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
