Robert Wade Cabaniss Jr., 81, passed away April 12, 2010 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born April 21, 1928 in Ennis the son of Robert Wade Sr. and Eula Mae Cabaniss. He married Margie Fisher his second wife on February 14, 1997 in Cottondale. He was a longtime resident of Weatherford and a frequent visitor to Worland, Wyoming. He maintained his faith in the Lord as a devoted Southern Baptist. Robert served our country honorably and was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and the Navy during WWII and Korean War. He was a Mason, lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the Eagles, and the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. Robert was a loving husband and father who always placed his family's welfare and happiness as his highest priority. He cherished his wife Margie who enjoyed spoiling him on a daily basis. As a loving father for his daughter Deborah Ann, Robert was the protector and guiding inspiration for her to follow. Robert's grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss Granddad's fishing trips, love for rodeo and bull riding, the Dallas Cowboys, and the endless practical jokes that made everyone laugh. While Robert has passed to His glorious reward, he will always be remembered as a man who kept his word and understood the principles of honor, trust, and devotion. Services will be 10 AM Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Mike Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Creek Cemetery.
