Sgt. Brandon Richard Allen, USMC, died April 16, 2010 in N. Carolina, the result of an automobile accident.

Sgt. Allen was born July 10, 1987 in Massillon, Ohio and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life. He was a 2006 graduate of Woodridge High School, grew up playing soccer and was a member of the Northampton United Methodist Church.

He made the decision to become a Marine and in August, 2006 arrived at Parris Island, South Carolina. Sergeant Allen graduated from Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, MCRD Parris Island, S.C. on 27 October 2006. After successfully completing bootcamp, Private First Class Allen was then assigned to follow-on schools at the School of Infantry in Camp Lejeune, N.C. and Marine Corps Communications Electronics School at Twentynine Palms, Calif. Private First Class Allen then reported to 7th Communications Battalion, Okinawa, Japan on 10 March 2007 where he was a Tropospheric Scatter Radio Multi-Channel Operator. After a successful tour in Okinawa, Japan, Corporal Allen was transferred to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28 on 10 April 2009, where he was assigned to Multi-Channel Radio Platoon. Corporal Allen deployed to Iraq from 24 July 2009 to 16 September 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Corporal Allen was then promoted to Sergeant on 01 October 2009.

Sergeant Allen's personal awards include Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2nd award) and (2) Letters of Appreciation.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Richard Allen and Paul L. Wrigley and uncle Scott T. Wrigley.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Dr. Kyle Richard and Lynn Allen, twin brothers, Christopher Blair and Nicholas Bryant Allen, grandmothers, Vivian Allen, and Sue Wrigley, aunts and uncles, Mike and Terry Borland, Mike and Cindy Hensley, Dan and Lori Rothschild, and Steve Wrigley (fiance, Molly Day), and many cousins.

The Family would like to express their heartfelt sympathy and gratitude to Brandon's Military Family and friends in North Carolina. Semper Fi.
