Pilot Rock - Funeral for James Harold Barber, Pilot Rock, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Burns Mortuary in Pendleton. Graveside service will be by the american Legionin Olney Cemetery. Mr. Barber, 59, died Monday in the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla.

He was born in Monument, Ore., and was a resident of Pilot Rock since 1930. Mr. Barber was a Veteran of World War II, servin in the U.S. army Tank corps in Africa and Italy. He was an automobile and combine mechanic.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Jessie and Aaron Pickering, John Day; son, William Barber, and daughters, carolyn and Tammie Barber, all of Pilot Rock; brother, Clarence e. Powell, Brookings; and several cousins.
