Born Oct. 27, 1901, in Manor Township, he was the son of Samuel Spang and Lillian (McCollum) Rupert.
Mr. Rupert was a member of Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church, and a retired employe of PPG Industries, Inc., Ford City.
He is survived by his widow, Ethel (Denny) Rupert; sons, Robert J. of Ford City and Ernest Jr. of Kittanning RD 3; daughters, Mrs. Clyde (June) Weight of Ford City RD 2, and Mrs. Cherie Johnson of Ford City RD 2, and Mrs. Cherie Johnson of Ford City; brothers, Fred, George, and Floyd, all of Ford Cliff; sisters, Mrs. Murray (Mary) Riggle of Ford City RD 2, Mrs. Alice Waltenbaugh of Clarion, and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Van Dosen of Florida; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
RUPERT - Friends of Ernest R. Rupert, who died July 23, 1975, are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Wendell A. Welch Funeral Home, Ford City, beginning Wednesday evening and continuing through Thursday. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Raymond T. Eichier, pastor of Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church, at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ford City Cemetery. Arrangements by Welch.
