Rachel E. Kresge, 84, our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully, April 19, 2010, at Cooney Convalescent Home.

Rachel was born April 10, 1926, in Fortuna, North Dakota, to Frances Grace (Westover) and Theodore Leonard Thorbergson. Rachel was the second oldest of four children. The family moved from Fortuna to Clancy when Rachel was 11 years old. They later moved to Wickes, where Rachel's mother was postmistress for 50 years.

Rachel married Ted E. Kresge Jan. 2, 1943, in Butte. Together they raised seven children, five girls and two boys. Rachel loved family gatherings at their home in Wickes.

Rachel and Ted loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and snowmobiling. Rachel was a kind, loving wife and mother. She was an exceptional cook and loved crocheting and yard work.

Rachel is survived by her sister, Gloria Clark Henry; brother, Lloyd Thorbergson, and her seven children, Madeline (Jim) Cottrill, Maxine (Butch) Fournier, Marlene (Rod) Platt, Mickie (Ron) Bulkley, Mary (Steve) Elwood, Ted (Julie) Kresge, and David (Kristi) Kresge; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dotte Thorbergson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
