A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Abbott was born Sept. 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Roy Alexander and Jessie Caldwell Lewis. She was a retired nurse having graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, a member of Greenbriar United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindbergh Abbott.
Surviving are her children Beverly Montgomery of Rock Hill, Charlene Self of Rock Hill, Charles Lewis Abbott of Elgin, S..C, and Karen Tripp of Rock Hill; one sister, Jessie Lewis of Charleston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Abbott will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
