Alexander is the son of Joseph Glew Sr.(1793-1867) & Sarah Wright (1796-1878). He married Amanda Maria Waltham on 20 Apr 1846 in Farley, Dubuque, IA. They were the parents of Elizabeth, Joseph, Emanuel, Sarah, William, John, & Ida.
Jan 11, 1895 - Pella Herald - Alexander Glew, a resident of Dubuque county for fifty years, died at his home in Cottage Hill, aged 73 years. His wife and six children survive him.
