1. circa 1790: Israel DONALSON, William LEEDOM, and Isaac, Asahel and John EDGINGTON emigrated from VA and were with the first white men who located at Manchester, in what was later Adams Co., OH. They assisted in making all the surveys between 1790 and 1795. They fought the Indians so long as the Indian war lasted and Asahel EDGINGTON was one of their victims.

1. 1792/4: Among the chainmen and "markers" for surveyor Arthur FOX in the Northwest Territory, in what later would be come Adams Co., OH were William LEEDOM, George EDGINGTON, Robert SMITH, Duncan McKENZIE, James THOMPSON, Robert WALTON, James McCUTLIN and John REED.

3. circa 1795: It is probable that the first to settle in Sprigg Twp., Adams Co., OH were brothers George, Joseph and Isaac EDGINGTON and William LEEDOM, son-in-law of George EDGINGTON, They located near where Bentonville now stands.

1. 1797: When Zane's Trace was marked out, he left Manchester and located on the Trace just below Bentonville. There he built Leedom Tavern. (2) George EDGINGTON and his son-in-law William LEEDOM operated a tavern on Zane's Trace near Bentonville, Adams Co., OH.

1. Traded on the Ohio River with keel boats and made a number of trips to New Orleans.

1. 1798, 13 Mar: William LEEDOM and John COOKE appointed Reviewers of Manchester Twp., Adams Co., OH.

4a. 1804, 30 Oct: Harvey HETH of Brooks Co., VA, by Henry GILKESON his attorney, deeded to William LEEDOM of Adams Co., OH, for $245, 157 1/2 acres of land on Eagle Creek, bounded by John McDOWELL's survey #902, John ROBINSON's survey of 263 acres. Signed Henry GILKESON. Wits. Israel DONALDSON, John ELLISON. Acknowledged by GILKESON same date. Recorded 27 Nov 1804, Adams Co., OH.

1. Gave each one of his children 100 acres of land or equivalent in money. He had 275 acres left after the distribution among his children.
