Age 93, of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Marian was born Oct. 29, 1916, to the late Walter E. and Ella (Wagoner) Shaidnagle in Massillon.
A life resident of Massillon she was an executive chef.
She and her husband of 43 years, Charles Bannister, owned and operated the former Bannister's Chicken House. When they closed their restaurant she then was a chef at the former Bali Hai Restaurant.
Marian was an active member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, and Bible Study Group.
Her personal time was reading, cooking, baking cookies and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bannister (1983); two sisters, Kathryn McKaig and Carol Jane Wagoner; and two brothers, David Shaidnagle and Walter Shaidnagle.
Marian is survived by a niece, Marian Jane Wagoner with whom she made her home.
While she had no children, Marian enjoyed her many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Barbara Catholic Church, her pastor Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be beside her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery.
