He was born June 12, 1937, in Fostoria, to Thomas E. and Zeda E. (Moberley) Frederick. He married Carolyn R. Duding April 8, 1967, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and she died Nov. 6, 1995.
Surviving is a son, Scott (Alexandria "Sasha") Frederick of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Joanne (Mark) LaRue of Hoytville; four grandchildren; two brothers, Larry David (Theresa) Frederick of Fostoria and Rick M. (Linda) Frederick of Findlay; and sister-in-law, Nancy Frederick of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas A. Frederick.
Ed was a U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Independence and USS Forrestal as an aviation structural mechanic.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, where a wake service will take place at 3:45 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Committal services and burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery near Arcadia where the United Veteran's of Fostoria will provide military honors.
Memorial contributions are requested to the West Millgrove Fire Department in Ed's memory.
