From: Ft. Shafter, T.H. April 7, 1942
On the night of April 6, 1942 at about 0700 GCT, a B-17E No. 41-2443 cracked up. Conducting investigation and search. To date have found 4 bodies, but impossible to establish identification. Will send additional details later. Listed below are members of crew: 1st Lt. Ward Cox, Jr, 0392806 and Charles O. Allan, Jr. 0367225, 2nd Lieutenant James W. Roshoe 0430910, Staff Sergeants Luther L. Perry, Jr. 6292999, Mathias E. Donart 6568848, and Edward L. Hakes 6667164, Sergeants Warren F. Schneider 12025843 and Wilbur L. Gravitt 6296816, Corporals John F. Morris 6999571 and John E. Muckey 6981906.
