BERNARD J. HAAS
Bernard J. Haas, age 58, of the village of Cadott, died suddenly Wednesday, August 13, 1975, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls.
He was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Thorp, son of George and Mary (Kocherer) Haas. He grew up and attended schools in Thorp. On June 26, 1947, Mr. Haas married Lucy Henke at Stanley. He had moved in 1945 to Cadott, where he worked as a carpenter and contractor.
Mr. Haas had been a village trustee and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters at Thorp.
He was a veteran of World War II serving as a S-Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; four sons, Vernon, Cadott; Earl, Manheim, PA; and Delbert and Norbert, both of Cadott; one brother, Leonard, Sun Prairie; four sisters, Mrs. John (Margaret) Budzinski and Mrs. Zigmund (Manetta) Danielewicz, both of Thorp; Mrs. Frank (Annabelle) Budzinski, Downers Grove, IL; and Mrs. Lawrence (Marcella) Schultz, Chicago, IL; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Conrad.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, with Father Joseph Wagner Officiating. Burial was in Brooklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Haas, Ronald Haas, Bernard Budzinski, Dale Johnson, Robert Henke, and Donald Danielewicz.
