Daughter of William B. Carroll (5/2/1874 Ohio - Unknown) and Mellie Ann Roberts (11/20/1886 Kansas - 12/10/1959 Oklahoma).

Married first to Harry Thompson who passed away in 1971. She then married Albert J. "Pat" Lawrence and was married happily to him until he died in 1982. Though her last name at death was Lawrence, she is buried with her husband Harry under the Thompson headstone, and Pat is buried next to her with his own marker.

"Emma Thompson Lawrence
1912-2005

Emma Thompson Lawrence, 92, of Muskogee passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2005 at Eastgate Village Retirement Center. She was born November 2, 1912 to Lee and Millie Carroll at Big Cabin, Oklahoma. Emma was a wife, mother and later a clerk at Susman's. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a charter member of MARC, where she worked tirelessly for the handicapped and mentally challenged, having a son, Leroy, who was handicapped since birth.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Harry H. Thompson and A. J. "Pat" Lawrence; two daughters, Margaret Ann Reach and Francille Elmore, three sons, Lloyd Lee Thompson, Burton Thompson and Leroy Thompson; one grandson, Bob Thompson, a granddaughter, Jacque Burch of Las Vegas, six sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Fosters, Ivory Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery.

Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home."
