Mr. George T. Oakley, 79, of Montezuma, Georgia, died Thursday, July 9, 1987 in Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, Ga.
Graveside services were held at 11 AM Saturday, July 11, in Felton Cemetery. The Rev. LeRoy Obert and the Rev. Freddie Wheeler officiated.
Mr. Oakley was born July 8, 1908 in Fulton County, a son of William and Susan Elizabeth Oakley.
George T. Oakley came to Macon County January, 1936 as an Agricultural Extension Agent.
He was a past member and past president of Kiwanis Club, a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church and a past member of the board of stewards.
Survivors are his wife, Lillian Shumate Oakley; two daughters, three grandsons, a granddaughter, two brothers, two sisters.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
