Vera Cadwalader, 86, of rural Canton, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg.

Born April 22, 1898 in Orion Township, she was the daughter of James C. and Nellie (Ball) Linn. She married Roscoe Cadwalader Feb. 9, 1916 in Keokuk, Iowa. He died Feb. 7, 1982.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dwight (Eileen) Beaty of Oneida, who Vera made a home with for several years; three grandchildren, Mrs. Gilbert (Opal) Maple of Galesburg, Harold Beaty of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Frank Beaty of Pontiac; six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two stepgreat-grandchildren, four step great-great grandchildren.

Two brothers preceeded her in death.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church in rural Canton, Fulton County Farm Bureau, Douglas Community Club and Chit and Chatter Club.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m Wednesday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, the Revs. Frank Beaty and Howard Griffin officiating.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Church or the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.
