Bee - July 14, Charles, late of Berkenfeld, Or., husband of Edith, father of May Bee, brother of Mrs. Anna Quady, Mrs. Grace Nelson, Mrs. Bessie Wolfe, Mrs. Lulu Hedlund, Mrs. Carrie Dotson, William and George Bee; also Fred Reed. Friends invited to attend funeral services Monday, 10 AM at the Holman & Lutz Colonial Mortuary, NE 14th and Sandy. Committal, Maccabee cemetery, Maygers, Or., at 1:30 PM.

Graveside services were held at the Mayger cemetery on July 17 at 1:30 pm for Charles Bee. Mr. Bee died in a Portland hospital on July 14 after a two year illness, and services were conducted in the Holmann & Lutz chapel at 10 am July 17, with Rev. HW Jeffries officiating.
Mr. Bee was born November 20, 1893 in Downing on the place now owned by Theodore Flinn, and spent his boyhood in this community. He left in 1906 for the Nehalem valley, where he was employed. In 1915 he was married to Edith Lambert and to this union one child was born, a daughter, May, who survives. Also surviving are four sisters, two brothers, one step-brother, and several nephews, who were pall bearers at the funeral.

There is no mention of a baby Charles in his obituaries. Charles was born Sept 8, 1937 and died March 27, 1974 in Sonoma California.

Edith shows up in the 1920 and 1930 census as Sarah E Bee and her daughter as Edith M Bee. In the 1940 census "May" is living with her Aunt and Uncle Paul and May Knoblauch in San Francisco and goes by the name Edith May Bee.
