A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. July 13, 1994, in Clatskanie High School Auditorium.
Mr. Blecha was born Feb. 23, 1967, in Devils Lake, N.D. He died fighting a forest fire in Glenwood Springs, Colo. He was 27.
A 1985 graduate of Clatskanie High School, Mr. Blecha was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology June 11, 1994, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and had been accepted for graduate work at Portland State University.
The past three summers he'd been a member of the Prineville Hot Shots, U.S. Forest Service.
Survivors include his parents, Kirk and Cheryll of Clatskanie; brothers, Cory of Springfield and Jamie of Seattle; sister, Marit of Clatskanie; grandparents, Bud and Olga Holm of Edmore, N.D., and Donald and Dorothea of Grand Forks, N.D.; and special friend, Kelly Armantrout of Klamath Falls.
