Arthur Howard "Barney" Barnhisel, 80, who was a member of a number of coummunity and civic organizations during his 55 years in Klamath Falls died in Klamath Falls, Ore., June 16, 1981.

He was born Sept. 4, 1900, in San Jose, Calif., and was a realtor.

He homesteaded in the Tulelake area when he first came to the Klamath Basin, but primarily worked in real estate until he retired in the early 1970s. The firm of Banhisel and Ganong Realtors still bears his name.

He married Maybelle Leavitt, a member of a pioneer Klamath Falls family in July, 1929. Their home on the Link River, where they lived for many years, is believed to be more than 100 years old.
