Joseph Gilbert (though he went by Gilbert) was born in West Weber, Utah on April 9, 1903. His parents were Walter and Elizabeth Buck Hart.
Gilbert died on February 17th, 1918 in West Weber, Utah at the age of 14. He had been ill for four months, due to initial tonsillitis which later lead to inflammation in his heart.
He passed away in his older sister Violet's arms while they were sitting on the couch in the family's home.
He was preceded in death by an older sister, who was stillborn.
His sister Violet was very affected by her brother's death, and went on to name her son Harold Gilbert after him when he was born seven months later.
Gilbert was buried in the West Weber Cemetery.
