Normal - Victor W. Doyle, 86, of Normal died at 3:07 p.m. Friday 7/5/2003 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Normal. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, 1104 N. Main St., Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Doyle was born 10/19/1916 at Buckley a son of (John) Edward & Blanche Ditman Doyle. He married Frieda Cordes on 6/16/1963 at Buckley. She survives.
Also surviving are two step-sons, Lee Cordes of Gibson City & Roy Cordes of Kankakee; nine step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers & a stepdaughter.
Mr. Doyle was raised in Buckley & graduated from Buckley High School in 1935.
He was a veteran of World War II & served from November 1940 to November 1945. He was a retired Civil Service employee and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Normal.

-Victor was also the great-grandson of Thomas & Catherine (Dixon) Shannon Sr. buried at Pine Ridge, Loda, Il.
-Victor was the gr. grandson of Michael & Mary (McKenon) Shannon who came to Illinois from Ireland.
