An old and respected citizen of Sugar Grove, died there yesterday, June 4. He was a brother of the late Abner Hazeltine, and the late Daniel Hazeltine of Jamestown, and of Edwin, now living in Busti. He was the tenth and youngest of the children of Daniel and Susanna Jones Hazeltine, and was born at Wardsboro, Vermont, in Jan. 1810, 72 years ago. An older brother, Dr. Laban Hazeltine, father of Dr. G. W. Hazeltine of this place, came from Vermont and settled here in 1815. He was followed by his brothers Abner, Daniel and Pardon, in the order named. Some time later their father and several of his family including Hardin, came to live here. Hardin Hazeltine was married in Busti to Polly Stilson, and by her had 9 children. He had long been a resident of Sugar Grove."Jamestown Evening Journal, June 5, 1882, p. 4."
