"William Wolf was a well known Coverlet Weaver in the mid 1850's, as well as, a farmer. Many of his coverlets are displayed in several museums."

Was the son of Daniel & Catherine Wolfe. In 1845 moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio & in 1845 married Miss. Rachel Boyer. In 1855, they came to Michigan. She died 1/7/1882. They had 9 children. One died in infancy. Children are: Mrs. Mary Howe. Mrs. Amanda Briggs. Joseph D. & Elias Wolfe of Hudson. Jonas & William Wolfe, Missouri. Mrs. Rosetta Teachout, Toledo. Mrs. Susan C. Duffy of Col. Burial in Egypt Cemetery, south of the city."
