ADAMS
John M. Adams Sr., 67, Keystone Shaft, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday at the home of his son, Harry Adams, Irwin RD 4. He was born May 12, 1889 at West Newton and was a Keystone Shaft resident for 40 years. Adams was a retired coal miner at Westmoreland Coal Company's Hutchinson mine. He was one of the organizers of Herminie Dramatic Club and was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Edward's Church, Herminie; Ancient Order of Hibernians of Greensburg and United Mine Workers Local 5864 of Hutchinson. For 40 years he was organist at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Madison. He also was organist at St. Edward's. Adams' wife, Mary Jane Adams, preceded him in death August 13, 1954. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Montini of Keystone Shaft; six sons, Joseph and Richard of Detroit; Charles of Vincennes, Ind.; Paul of Herminie; John Jr., of Coloma, Mich.; Harry, of Irwin RD 4; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Adams and Mrs. Margaret Sharpe of Washington D.C.; Mrs. Mary Monstrola of Jeannette; three brothers, James, of Herminie; Pete, of Darragh, and Patrick, of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at Stader Funeral Home, Main St., Herminie from 1 to 10 p.m. daily. Requiem high mass will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Edward's Church, Herminie. The Rev. Albert P. Ackerman will officiate. Interment will be in Irwin Catholic Cemetery
