Mrs. Jane Vantuyl, aged 83 years, 7 months and 23 days, a very highly respected old lady, died at her home 5 1/2 miles east of this city on Friday, March 22, 1901 at 6:33 pm.
Deceased was widely known and a devout Christian, who was duly esteemed by all who knew her.
The funeral services were held in the St. John church on Sunday March 24th at 2 o'clock pm after which the remains were interred in the St. John Cemetery.
The subject of this sketch, Jane Pennington, was born in New Jersey on July 29, 1817 and was marred to Jonathan Vantuyl on April 12, 1834 and lived in Somerset County, NJ. Jonathan Vantuyl is the son of Otto Van Tuyl and Elizabeth Unknown.
