Edwin R. Hoag, a well-known resident of the township, years ago, died at his home in North Yamhill, Oregon, On Wednesday of last week. The Record, of the 23rd published in that city, contains the following obituary:
Mr. Hoag was born at Norwich, Chenango county, N.Y. on February 26th 1837. He lived there until he ahd reached the age of 7 years, when he moved to Sun Prairie, Dane county, Wisconsin, where he resided until he moved with his family to North Yamhill about six years ago. He had been sick for several months and everything possible was done for his comfort and recovery, but all efforts proved futile. Mr. Hoag was hightly esteemed by all who knew him. He was a kind husband and father and an exemplary citizen. He leaves a wife and two children, besides a host of friends to mourn him. The funeral will take place form his late residence at 10 o'clock this morning, Rev. H. C. Morgan officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the North Yamhill cemetery.
