Sarah L. Thatcher, 66, was entertainer
Sarah L. (Baker) Thatcher, 66, of 660 Wyncroft Lane, Apt. 4, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Joseph Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of the late John H. Thatcher Jr., who died Dec. 22, 1989.
Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Jennie G. Steele Baker and the late Nathan H. Baker.
She worked as a vocalist and entertainer for many years until 1970, most recently with the Tiny Wright Band in Lancaster. She also worked for the Charlie Neimer Trio for many years as well as other bands.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, Donald J. Thatcher, Lancaster; two grandchildren; five sisters: Mary E., wife of Russell Schober; Dorothy M. Kurtz; Dawn W., wife of Charles Herr; Nancy J., wife of Anthony Vital; and Barbara A., wife of Charles Colson, all of Lancaster; a brother, John W. Baker, Strasburg; a half-brother, M. Luther Baker, Columbia; and a half-sister, Catherine Sener, Bellingham, Wash.
