John Mackey Ewing, 83, of Lexington, died Tuesday, January 18, 1994 at his residence. Mr. Ewing was born in Rockbridge County, on January 15, 1911, son of the late John Emmett Ewing and Annie Jane Mackey Ewing. He owned and operated Ewing Studio for 35 years, was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Rebecca Jeanette Craft Ewing of Lexington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ann E. and Luther Saunders of Lexington, Mary Jane E. and Paul Barrett, of Roanoke, Janet Sue Ewing of Staunton; 6 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 1994, at Harrison Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow in the Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery, Lexington.
