Mrs. Collins was born in Carroll County, Va., April 17, 1934, to L. A. and Minnie Horton Easter. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant with over 30 years of dedicated service to health care.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Morris Simon, Denise Shelton and Darrell Easter, Misty and Johnny Snow and Dawn Quesenberry; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Martha Collins and Eddie and Wendi Collins; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Stevens, Rhonda and Ray Cox and Alene Easter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmie Lee and Faye Easter, Roscoe Easter and fiancée Patty Carpenter and Billy Ray and Shirley Easter; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Angie Tate; six dogs; and one bird.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Lee Collins; and a brother, Arnold Junior Easter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Richard Loman and Dr. David Sparks. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
