Sunday, 28 april, 1946 - Asheville Citizen - Funeral services for John H. Sluder, 80, life long resident of the Leicester section of Buncombe county, who died suddenly as the result of a heart attach in a hospital here Friday night, will be conducted in the Macedonia Baptist Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. he had been ill for several weeks.
The Rev. Erskine Plemmons and the Rev. Hugh Rhymer will officiate. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews and flowers will be nieces. The body will remain at the Anders - Rice funeral home here until for the rites.
Mr. Sluder, a retired farmer, is survived by six sons, A. E., J. M. of Burgin and D. E. of Asheville, Hiram of Leicester and T. V. of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Dow Morrow of Leicester; three sisters, Mrs. Monroe Parham and Mrs. Bob Rodgers of Buncombe county and MRs. R. M. Hawkins of Hendersonville; one brother, Doc Sluder of Asheville; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
