At the time of his death he was survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Vera Mae Runion of Taylors; a step-son, Everett F. Godfrey of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gray of Greenville, Mrs. Lusha Hendrix and Mrs. Fannie Bell Karr of Liberty; one brother, Arthur B.Gilstrap of Liberty, and eight grandchildren.
His funeral service was held Sunday, June 18, 1957 at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in Greenville, conducted by three local pastors.
Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty.
