Prudence McCollum was born in June of 1880 in Hartselle, Morgan County, Alabama, to Jesse Anderson Halbrooks and Lucinda Hooker Stephenson Halbrooks.

Final rites were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hopewell for Mrs. Charles V. McCollum, 66, who died Saturday at her home on Hartselle 2 following an extended illness.

Rev. Lannie Smallwood conducted the services, with Peck in charge, interment in the adjoining cemetery.

The deceased is survived by her husband, C. V. McCollum, Hartselle 2; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Rodgers, Hartselle 2, Mrs. Myrtle Wiggins, Hartselle 2 and Mrs. Pearl Bennett, Jacksonville; two brothers, Floyd Halbrooks, Hartselle 2 and John Halbrooks, Hartselle 1.

Pallbearers were Clyde Prince, Jim Sandlin, Gladstone Isley, Thurman Rodgers, Leon Stephenson and John Rodgers.
