Thomas Guy Lord was born 11 Dec 1911 to Charles Hudson and Mary Eula (Lewis)Lord. His mother died when he was a teenager and he left home at an early age.
He was working in a funeral home (I believe owned by a member of the Lord family) in Hattiesburg, MS. when his aunt Katie Lou Lord (Director of Nursing at the local hospital) introduced him to a young nurse, Essie Faye Hollingsworth. Tom and Essie Faye were married in the Hollingsworth home located in Petal, MS on 12 Oct. 1937.

Tom joined a crew to help in the construction of the 1939-40 Worlds fair in New York City. While there Essie Faye (who goes by Holly) became pregnant with their first child. Determined not to have her child there she moved back to Hattiesburg and Tom followed not long after.

Tom and Holly had three girls: Alice "Lana", Carole Elizabeth -"Sunny" and Angela Faye -"Angie. Tom built the home at 1055 S Ann Street in Mobile, Alabama where they raised the three girls. Tom lived at that residence until his death.

He worked and ultimatly retired from the National Gypsum Company as a foreman in Mobile.

He was a very quite and reserved man but he could make you laugh and loved to laugh. He enjoyed smoking a pipe and working in his shop in the back yard.
