Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Breheny, 85 yrs Of age were held from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church here on Thursday, July 8th, 1943. Father Sheehy of Casey, Father O'Leary of Greenfield and Father Drew of Des Moines sang High Mass. Mrs. S.T. Lawler furnished the music. Burial was made at the Catholic Cemetery.

The pall bearers were all grandsons, namely; Raymond Miller, Gene Miller, Francis Lyddon, Junior Lyddon, Joe Smith and Virgil Smith.

Mrs. Breheny was born in Canada, but left there when very young going to Winterset, Iowa and later settling near Casey, having made her home here for 45 yrs.
Mrs. Breheny has been in failing health for several years, having suffred a broken hip about two years ago but was always of a pleasant nature, recieved her friends with a cheerful greeting that will always be remembered, until two weeks ago. She failed and the end came quickly at her home Tuesday noon, July 6, 1943.

Surviving her are three daughters: Mrs. Mary Smith of Luther, Iowa: Mrs. Maggie Lyddon of Des Moines and Agnes Miller of Adair; sons: Francis & William Breheny of Des Moines; John & D.F. Breheny of Greenfield; Jas, Patrick and Thomas at home.

A daughter, Mrs. Anna "Mary" Ward is deceased and her daughter, Mary, has made her home with her grandparents since her mother's passing several years ago and has assisted faithfully in their care. She also leaves 32 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Relatives from a distance that attended the funeral services: Mrs. Margaret Lyddon and family of Des Moines; M/M J.Elmer Smith of Luther; Mrs. (Catherine) Floyd Miller, an Mrs. John Vaughn of Des Moines; Mrs. Ruth Miller, Davenport ; Mrs. Chas. Smith, Mrs.(Mary)Paul Smalley, M/M Tom Smith, M/M Virgil Smith and Joe Smith all of Boone.
