Bageant, David W.
David W. Bageant passed away peacefully on April 6, 2010 with his devoted dogs by his side. He is reunited with parents Donald and Emma Lou Bageant. David was known for his kind, generous spirit, and his determination to live life to the fullest. He was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his devoted partner of 10 years, Brett Hobza, the Hobza family who loved him like another son, his loving sister Margie Guy, brother-in-law Joey, and nephews Alex and Chris, sisters Cathy Bageant and Patty Campbell, and niece Jennifer Campbell. David's most cherished friends and extended family include Kris and Ted Wilson, John and Nanci Burk, Tiffany and Matt Mason, Mike and Holly Brauer, Livi and Ray Brasher, Deb Scott, and his long-time best friend Seth Eskigian. Especially close to David's heart were his nephews Eston and Max Brauer. A retired math teacher from Madison #1 Middle School, David had a tremendous impact on the lives of his many students, who kept in contact with him long after graduation. David's Facebook page is filled with beautiful tributes from his students. His students were a constant source of inspiration for him, but one special student held a dear place in David's heart. Julia Banahan stood at David's side every day during his playground duty. She "made his day" with her sweet, caring spirit, and every morning he spent with her, in his words, "gave him a push to be a kinder, better person." David spoke of her often as the most cherished memory of his teaching experience. Recently, David completed training to be a volunteer tutor at Phoenix Children's Hospital and was excited to be working with the kids soon. Second only to his love of kids was his love of dogs. His "puppies" Parker, Kendall, and Cooper were the center of his days, and were at his side as his spirit passed into the Light.
