He was a Freemason, a Redskin and Oriole fan, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a founding member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Silver Spring, MD, and a career Naval Intelligence Officer with the U.S. Government. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family in Ocean City, MD.
