STREATOR — Donald E. Clevenger, 68, of Streator, died at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The Rev. Bill Niebuhr will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rutland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John and Ed Clevenger, Jim Rhodes, Kenny Roach, Rick Heiston and Bill Hawk.
Born Nov. 26, 1941, in Spring Valley, he was the son of John and Oma (Powless) Clevenger. He married Linda Spaulding May 23, 1998. She died Feb. 1, 2006.
He is survived by daughters, Sherry (Tom) Phelps of Streator and Christine Scheuer of Wenona; sons, David Clevenger of Wenona and Tommy Duket of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and brothers, Norman (Mary) Clevenger of Long Point, Rolland (Betty) Clevenger of Lake Wildwood and Roy (June) Clevenger of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, Larry Clevenger; a daughter, Laurie Clevenger; and a brother, Robert Clevenger.
He attended Rutland Grade School and graduated from Minonk High School, Class of 1958.
Donald moved to Streator when he was 16 and has worked as an owner/operator over the road truck driver for 51 years.
