Peter A. Henke, a resident of N. Franklin Street, Stanley, died at six o'clock this morning at Victory Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Henke was born August 28, 1886 in Mazeppa, Minnesota, the son of August and Anna Henke. He moved to a farm near Thorp with his parents when a child. In 1912, he bought a farm in the Town of Worden, near Stanley, and farmed there until his retirement in 1958. He was married to Cora Vanderloop January 8, 1920, at St. Anne's Church, Stanley. She died June 2, 1957.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church, a past supervisor in the Town of Worden for 10 years, and served on the Worden Telephone Co. Board and also as lineman for many years.
Surviving are one son, Donald of Stanley; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Lucy) Haas, Cadott; Mrs. Melvin (Evelyn) Haas, Thorp; and Mrs. Marlin (Phyllis) Johnson, Stanley; one brother, Emil of Thorp; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Martha) Higholt of Stanley and Mrs. George (Mathilda) Schneider, Stanley; and 16 grandchildren. One daughter, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, from 9 a.m. Sunday until the time of the funeral. Services will be at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Anne's Church with Father Edmund Cramer officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Parish Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday evening at the funeral home.
