George Alva Edwards, 72, of Toledo, native of Jasper County, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, August 29, 1969, at the Mattoon Memorial Hospital.
He was a veteran of World War II.
A brother, L. M. (Bob) Edwards, of Jewett, is his only survivor.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Hiles Funeral Home in Greenup, with burial in Kerns Cemetery, near Rose Hill.
