He was born Monday, September 13, 1937, in
Warren, PA, a son of the late Carl and Leah (Henderson) Lindberg.

Rev. Lindberg retired from the California United
Methodist Church in 2002 and was given the honorary title of Pastor Emeritus. As
a young man, David achieved the rank of Eagle
Scout, and as an adult, Rev. Lindberg served as the Chairman of the Mon Valley District to Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts
of America. He was a past president of the California Rotary Club, served on the board of directors of the California Historical Society, was the first and founding treasurer of the
California School District Foundation, was a member of the Town and Gown Committee, and sat on the Ethics Committee of the Mon Valley Hospital. He was the Statistician, Memoirs Secretary and Pastoral Pension Consultant
for the United Methodist Western PA Conference,
sang with the California Chorale and was a member
in the Western PA Conference Ministers' Chorus for more than 35 years.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Lindberg was preceded in death by his son, Peter C. Lindberg
(1974); his first wife, Patricia (1975); and a brother, Dr. Stanley W. Lindberg.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34
years, Susan Lindberg; daughter, Heather Coble
and her husband, Raymond, of California, PA;
brothers, Dr. Robert Lindberg and his wife, Lila, of Peoria, IL, Thomas Lindberg and his wife, Elaine, of Akron, OH, and John Lindberg of Warren, PA. Also surviving are two grandsons, Brendan and Ethan Coble, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California,
PA on Sunday, April 18 from 7-9 pm, and on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Funeral Services will be held in the California United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Andrew Harvey, Rev. Dr. Eric Park, Washington District Superintendent and Rev. Thomas Chacko, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the United Methodist Church of California, PO Box 426,
California, PA 15419.
