LA FERIA, TX. — Wade Donald Davidson 88, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

Wade was born February 12, 1922 in Grapeland, Houston County,TX to EricMagrill and Robbie Whiraker Davidson. He was a former resident of Corpus Christi and Houston and had been a resident of La Feria for the past 40 years.

Wade was employed with the Equitable Life Insurance Co. as a Manager for many years in the Corpus Christi and Valley area. He was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harlingen and Mercedes, and served as an Elder. He was a Boy Scout leader and loved gardening and fishing. He also served with the Coast Guard during World War II.

Wade is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene of La Feria; daughters, Pamela Davidson of La Feria and Deborah (Steven) Wade of Kerrville, TX; grandchildren, Bryan (Aislian) King of Harlingen and Jeffrey (Heidi) King of Huntsville, TX; seven great grandchildren; sister, Norma Bertram of Buna, TX; brother, Charles Davidson of Weimar, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Mercedes, TX, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 with the Rev. Esther Hughes officiating. A reception will follow the services in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Graveside services will follow the reception at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.

Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 PM till service time.
