WILLIAM RUFUS MARVIN: 69; Kingsville, died Sunday night [5-20] at his home as the result of a stroke suffered 2 weeks ago. MrMarvin was born 5 Jan 1876 in PennLine PA, a son of CassiusM & HannahA Bates Marvin & married Hattie Kathryn Hiller 19 Aug 1906 in Kinsman. For 53 years he was a loyal employee of the NY Central RR & when he was retired last year he was presented a gold lettered pass in rec-ognition of his long service. For many years he lived in Andover, later moving to Ashtabula; sold his home here last year & moved to King-sville. After being stricken 2wks ago MrMarvin was removed to General Hosp where he impro-ved & was taken home. The deceased was a member of Andover Lodge-506 F&AM; Jeffer-son Chapter-145-RAM; Conneaut Council-40-R&AM; CacheCommandery-17 KinghtsTemplar; LakeErie Consistory-Cleveland; FloralChapter 54-OES & AshtabulaCnty Scottish Rite Soc. He was a member of the Pioneer Assn of the old LS&NS RR Co. He was affiliated with And-over Methodist Church & the BofRT-87.{Organizations to share services}
His wife, who survives, was a Span.American War Red Cross nurse. Other survivors are a dau: MrsEldred Arnold-Erie PA; 4 granddaus: Gladys, Virginia, Jean & Bernice; 3 uncles: Steven, Marvin & John Bates-Jamestown & several cousins.
Services will be held Wednesday night in Earle Richmond Funeral Home with RevJS Costigan-Kingsville Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be made Thursday noon [5-24] in the family lot in Andover. {MapleGrove Cem}
