I first met Lester after he had settled in Harvey IL., had lost his first wife to cancer and was raising his only child, Pricilla. He had also, by then, met Estelle, who had just become his second wife.

He was very much involved in his daughter's life, going to all of the high school football games where she played the clarenet in the marching band. He was often the one that started a standing ovation for the band.

Even after we were married he stayed involved. We went camping together quite a bit. We went with them back to Ohio to see his family every year.

When his first grandson, David, came along you couldn't separate the two.

Lester was a mechanic for the Wards department store in Harvey. He was so good at his job and so well liked that when they closed that store they gave him his choice of any store in the country to move to. They paid for him to move. They chose Florida, where Estelle was born and had family.

Lester was a good husband, a loving father, a tremendous grandfather and one of the best fathers-in-law a guy could ever ask for. He was like a second father to me.

May our heavenly FATHER grant you peace Les.
