Mr. Herman Sidney Ungar- Age 85. A native and resident of Mobile passed away at a local hospital Monday, May 5, 2008. After his retirement from Kamil Ship Supply his main purpose in life was caring for his beloved wife Goldie. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Ahavas Chesed Synagogue, B'NAI B'RITH, Jewish War Veterans, Mason's, National Association of Marine Services, Inc.. President's level of South Alabama Jaguars Athletics. He is preceded in death by son Howard Lee Ungar. He is survived by his wife Goldie Sawilowsky Ungar of Mobile and by two daughters, Audrey U. (Max) Goldberg, Mobile, AL, Hope U. (Alan) Goldin, Gulfport, MS. Three Ganddaughters, Sarah G. (Will) Lien, Seattle, WA, Ellen J. Goldberg, Dallas, TX, Stacy Goldin, Gulfport,MS. Two Grandsons, Jason Goldin, Atlanta, GA,Scott Goldin Philadelphia, PA. Graveside service will be held at Ahavas Chesed Cemetery on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 4:00 PM with Rabbi Steve Silberman officiating. A special thanks to Dr. James Walker and his entire staff, Dr. Jack DiPalma, Dr. William Lightfoot, Dr. Norman Lichtenfeld, Dr. Amy Morris, and Dr. William Higgs. Thanks to all the nursing staff at Providence Hospital 12 East, a dear friend and companion for 45 years, Margaret Leggett. Friends and caretakers Anna Anthony and Kinosha Shaw.
