She was born May 1, 1896 in Plattsmouth, Neb., to John and Frances (Meisinger) Gagermeier. She, with her parents, sisters and brother, moved to Glendive in 1901. She lived with her parents on a farm in the Belle Prarie area. She and her family later moved into town and she attended Glendive schools. She married James Colvin in Glendive in October or 1916. Her father and her husband were in the leather business in Glendive from the turn of the century. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America and of the Frontier Gateway Museum. She worked for the Federated Stores at the end of World War II until she retired in 1958. She was an active Democrat and worked in the party. She enjoyed her family, sewing, gardenign and her yard. She also enjoyed tattting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1944, parents, sister and brothers.
Survivors include three sons, James Colvin of Glendive, John Colvin of Lodi, Calif., and Terence Colvin of Walnut Creek, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. John (Catherine) Knapp of Glendive and Mary Ayers of Santa Barbara, Calif. seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren
