George William Brown was the son of Guy Homer Brown and Susannah Eccles. George worked as an auto mechanic. In 1926, George married Violet Hamers, daughter of John Hamers and Antonia Nieberle. She was a widow who had lost her first husband Roy McGrew in 1925. In addition to raising her son by Roy McGrew, Floyd, George and Violet had 4 other known children: James; Shirley Darlene; Rosalie Fay; and Richard Garland.
