Rowdy Clipper Cooper was born January 10, 1876 in Alabama to John Arter Cooper and Missouri Frances Stallings. He and his family migrated to Texas before the 1880 Census in Montague County, Texas. He was one of ten children born into this family(he and his sister Alma Leoti were the two children born in Elba, Coffee County, Alabama) before the family came to Texas. Rowdy and his family came with the families of Kilcrease, Stallings, Alsobrook and others that relocated after the Civil War.
Rowdy married Jenny A. Sigmon on January 1, 1899 in Bowie, Montague County, Texas.Jenny and Rowdy had four children:
1. Loyd Onell Cooper born January 18, 1900 in Bowie, Montague County, Texas and died October 17, 1936 Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas-Loyd married Lillie Faye Forick and they had a daughter-Constance Jennie Cooper.
2. Rexford Allen Cooper-born December 29, 1901 in Montague County, Texas and died March 30, 1974 in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. Rexford was married to Margaret Mae Dwight and had one son Rexford Allen Cooper, Jr.
3. Gladys L. Cooper born August 9, 1904 in Montague County, Texas and diedOctober 19, 1908 in Bowie, Montague County, Texas
4.Lelia Cooper born 1909 in Montague County, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Cooper, 608 Pennsylvania, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on New Year's Day at a reception given by their daughter, Mrs. Lelia Cox, at her home, 1212 Lilac. The hostess was assisted by her brother, Rex Cooper, 1001 St. Louis.

The honored couple, both members of pioneer families in Bowie; were married there on Jan. 1, 1899. They have lived here since 1908. Cooper is a retired cafe operator.

At the reception, the table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a tiered cake, flanked by white candles in crystal candelabra. Gold ice cream shapen molds were served with the cake to 45 guests. Yellow roses and gold chrysanthemums were used to decorate the house.
